I Am Woman...Hear Me Roar!!!

March 21, 2012 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

During the morning portion of the conference, we talked about various forms of human trafficking: sex trafficking, organ trafficking, labor traffick, mail order brides, child soldiers, etc. It was a very heavy topic.

Thereafter, we headed out to the desert to sand dune. Everyone was talking about how fast the cars go on the dunes, saying that most ppl throw up from the fast movements. I was nervous about going, but....YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!!! I went and sat in the front seat!! OMG was it fun! We were in trucks that slide, climbed, and fell off of the dunes at fast speeds. Honestly, it reminded me of my father's driving lol. I was not scared or nautious, I was just hoping we didn't flip over as the car slide quickly down the slopes of the dunes. We passed a car of guys who were around my age all throwing up. I must say I felt proud in that moment, that I was a female and able to handle the ride better than a group of guys lol.

We took photos at the top of the dunes after the impromptu rollercoaster ride, it was....beautiful. We headed to the camp site where their were camels to ride, henna designs to receive, food to eat, and music to dance to. The men exited the site allowing the local girls to take of their abayas and sheilas. It was nice seeing them uncovered, free, in clothes like me, and dancing. I enjoyed every minute of that. After hitting my dougie...and yes they played "Teach Me How to Dougie"...we headed back to the school. To end such a fantastic day, we had to hop the gate of the school to get out lol. The guards came after half of us had already made it over. This accomplishment only added to my ego. I am woman. Hear me roar!!!!
