We did a lot of driving on Tuesday, but did not seem to cover much territory. But the scenery was great, we crossed over the Rockies, and it was a great day anyway. The weather on the East side of the mountain was rainy, cool, and WINDY, a big change from the heat on the West side.
We stopped for lunch in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, at the "Boss Hogg Saloon." It was the perfect place to fuel up. We thought about stopping for the night at the Alamosa KOA. Before we could get to the campground, we realized the awning had unrolled itself in all the high wind and was flapping around like crazy. Rusty pulled the RV over on the side of the road (it was a country road, not an interstate!) and thought for a while about what to do. He got up on top of the RV but couldn't do much about it by himself (and he did not think I would be much help handling the awning in the wind...hm). So we just drove on to the Alamosa KOA, where some nice guys helped him roll it back up tightly and duct-tape the edge down so no wind could get in. That did the trick, and we decided to move on a little more. We finally stopped about 6:30pm at the Colorado City KOA. It was nice, a great mountain view, nice grassy areas, and a bunny hopping around.
We played ring toss, had some dinner, and hit the rack early for another big day!

It sure looks as though you are having a great time. You are adding lots of states to your list, that's great. You must have been close to Conifer, CO where Sue and I lived. That is pretty country. Enjoy the sights.
