We got to Salta around midday and looked at booking a bus straight to Puerto Iguazu or Buenos Aires. We decided to go to Puerto Iguazu but buses were not available until the next day so we stayed a night at Salta. It was a good decision as Salta is a really nice small city with great restaurants and bars. We bumped into an Australian couple from our Inca Trail group who we had also seen at the Salt Flats. We ate some fantastic steaks which I cut with my fork they were so tender! After a night of good dining and drinking we rested up before going in a cable car to the top of Cerro San Bernardo a mountain which overlooks Salta. We sat and had an ice cream and relaxed as we knew we had to get on a bus for 23hrs in a short amount of time! n the way down we went past the Australian couple in a cable car going to the top! We had time for one more steak before we left and had free champagne with the meal. It was about 5 British pounds for a huge fillet steak! After eating like kings we got our ruck sacks and boarded the bus, next stop Puerto Iguazu!
