The rain in Spain is insane?

November 11, 2007 - Olongapo, Philippines

Pretty uneventful for the past few days. Auntie  Darlene arrived the other day, so the house was all aflutter, then everyone kinda went to sleep and it was silent for a while. She headed off to Bataan for a day or so to check on the progress of the house. Boober and I went back into Olongapo City with Nhoel for a while. Hit up the net café, checked out the tattoo parlor, shot a little pool… it was a good time. Only one little skirmish on the jeepney ride on the way home with Nhoel, but Boober put him in his place and we left it at that. Not too keen on going out with him again, but it’s all good. The next day we went into the city to go market hopping. Trying to find some cute sandals for Laurel, but not having any luck in that department, learned my lesson buying $2 shoes last time. I do pretty well until we hit the fresh food markets. I don’t really like the smells of some of the foods and fish and well, the term ‘fresh’ is used kinda loosely. Still feeling kinda sick. I opted to buy Laurel some medicine (antibiotics and cough syrup) instead of a new wok :P although, it’s a lot easier to get medicine here, not really controlled substances and stuff. Boober and Grace went into town to go to the Carnival for the night, mom and dad headed in for more souvenir shopping at the Night Market. Laurel and I had an exciting evening watching the Highlander and turned in early for the night. Today is supposed to be the big cockfight, apparently we have the opportunity to make 500 pesos if we bet on Kuya Minoy’s rooster! It’s a fight to the death from what I understand, so I’m gonna take a lot of pictures before and after.
