Tattoo U?

November 29, 2007 - Olongapo, Philippines

-- Today May and I went souvenir shopping. We had a great time going through the market and bargaining with people. I found these neat little piggy banks made out of coconuts that looked like nipa huts. Got a few embroidered t-shirts, a neat little wooden caribou and an ashtray! Basically we got 2500 pesos worth for only 1250 pesos. I came home expecting Dad to laugh at my little shopping excursion, but actually he fell in love with the little piggy bank, and was impressed with my bargain hunting. Boober had met a guy who did an awesome tattoo for an affordable price, and so we all decided to get tattoos done on the next day when the guy came back… even mom! Talk about a cool souvenir. In the end, Mom got a rose with “Dale” beneath it. Dad added Gram’s name with a teardrop on one arm, and Auddi & Boober and Laurel beneath those on the other arm, and had a sasquatch sitting on a low rider done to his chest. Boober got a waterfall island scene on his arm, and I had my dove colored in, orchids added and Laurel’s name in a banner… all for about 3500 pesos, which is the equivalent of about $85 USD. Craziness!
