Nara

October 20, 2011 - Kyoto, Japan

We arrived in Nara and checked into our small hostel, only 3mins walk from the station. We explored the locale area and found a falafel restaurant for super as a change from Japanese it was really nice a the guy told us he has another one in Kyoto so might check it out. The next day we did a long sightseeing walk through a big parkland area and saw some amazing temples. One temple is the biggest wooden structure in the world, amazingly it is only 2/3 of the size it once was. This housed one of the worlds largest bronze statues of a Buddha. The park land was filled with deer that wondered around everywhere approaching people. After eating lunch at a small place on route we slowly headed back ending up back at the hostel early evening. For dinner we had Okinomiyaki again (we can't get enough). this morning we headed back to Kyoto. At the mo we are staying in a small Japanese guest house Farley central. It's been really warm the last few days about 25c
