Brrrrrr...Wien....Brrrrrrr

January 4, 2008 - Vienna, Austria

We travelled from Prague to Vienna by train. Stunning views. About 15 minutes out of Prague things started getting progressively whiter and whiter until everything was white. The train trip lasted for 4 1/2 hours and was great. I much prefer the train to the plane!

So, I had thought that Prague was cold. Let me tell you my sunny, warm, tropical living friends that I had not even experienced cold yet. As soon as we stepped out of the train station I wanted a sleeping bag. FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZING!!! I think -4. That's as cold as I've ever been. I thought we'd been smart and booked a hotel across the road from the train station, this was until the arctic wind blew my arse across the street..I felt not so smart, infact I was actually close to shutting up shop and throwing a 'Caleb you §$%&%% %%&$§$' tantrum. Bad times.

I did eventually get over my shock at the weather and today we went on a little bus tour that took us around the major sights in Vienna - and there are many. This castle, this summer home, that winter home, that embassy, this important person statue, this place where Straus lived, that place where Mozart once sneezed outside of. We got off the tour at the winter palace of some important family (to be honest, there are so many important families that I lost count and just smiled and made the appropriately appreciative noises when we walked past Sissi's bed & Sissi's study. Sissi is what we people who are close to Princess Elizabeth call her. I had my first injury at Sissi's house, or rather, outside in her yard by a fountain. I slipped on black ice (frozen grass) and fell on my knees and then because I'm so wonderful and carry everything around on my back I  tipped over and my head hit the rock hard snow as well as my knee, my arms, my arse! It was great viewing for the many tourists who were also gathered at Sissi's house.

[p]It's taken me two attempts to write this entrz because Austrian-German kezboards are slightlz different from English ones, Iäve decided not to correct the mistakes that happen as
