Carnaval

We really appreciate when you leave comments so we know who has been visiting!

As you well know, we have been volunteering at the Jardin public pre-school. We were invited to celebrate carnaval with them. When we arrived a beauty pagent was underway. About fifteen little girls in costumes, dancing on a stage made of tables. After, all the kids, teachers, parents, and us got out our carioka (foam in a can) and went crazy. Spraying everyone in sight. It wasn't a big problem because the stuff just desolves. And surprisingly there were only a few tears.

We had been told that during carnival you couldn't walk down the street without getting hit by water balloons and sprayed with super soakers. We surprisingly only got sprayed a few times by those mini water guns that are like a dribble. We made sure to always walk against traffic and have our eyes open at all times.

Last friday we went to a carnaval party at our Spanish School. When we walked into the flooded lobby we immediatley were dumped on with buckets of frigid water. The next three hours were spent dancing and dumping water on eachother. Although we left after a while the party actually went on for eight more hours.

We really appreciate when you leave comments so we know who has been visiting!

This sounds like so much fun! Especially dumping dirty water on other people's heads. I wish I was there for it!
