Becca & Cath Come to Ecuador & Rock Its Socks Off!

April 10, 2012 - Vilcabamba, Ecuador

Hi Everybody, this is Liz.  I just wanted to tell you that the reason we don't have any new videos is because we just got a new camera and the videos we take aren't loading onto the blog.  Sorry, and hope that we can figure it out soon.

Now to Becca...

Hi readers of this blog! This is Becca. Most of you probably don't know me, but my mom, Cath, and Jen are pretty much best friends, so her and I are visiting the Brown-Greens! I noticed that they haven't written any entries in a while, so Liz said I could write one if I wanted to. I will be writing about Vilcabamba because there's nothing about it on the blog, and it's a really cool place.

Things we did here (so far):

- Go swimming in our hotel's pool. It's really deep and cold but it's still a pool, so it's still fun.

- Play giant "checkers". We spotted a giant chess board, so we decided to play while we were waiting for our desserts. When we got there, though, Allie convinced me and Seb that we should play checkers instead of chess. So, using the chess pieces, we managed to play a giant game of checkers.

- Go on a 4 hour horse back ride. We climbed along this stream and up a bunch of mountains to our guide's family's ranch. It was a lot of fun, and I really want to go horse back riding soon. At the end, Allie's horse (Chocolate), Jen's horse (Adventura), Liz's horse (we can't remember the name) and my horse (Tornado) all galloped REALLY fast. It was such a thrill, and super exciting.

- We visited the Brown-Green's neighbor Blaize (she lives here) at her job working at a cafe. Liz was under the impression that it was called the Squash-Buckling Cafe, but it's really called the Samboca Cafe (I'm not so sure about that, though). They had lots of really yummy food, especially the lemon pie (hint hint that was a reccomendation).

We also did a bunch of other stuff (like eat breakfast and take a shower), but they're all not interesting enough (they would bore you to death) to be on this blog.

Adios amigos!

Hi Becca,
Do you remember me? I am going to be the new school nurse next year at your school, Mark Twain Academy. Every year we test kids on their writing ability, and just by looking at your piece, I can tell that you will be very successful in the years to come. I hope your having a great time in Indonesia!
Yours truly,
Dr. Peggen (P.H.D)

The fun had by all was fun to read...the pool, scenery and reality checkers very unique but a four hour horseback ride not now, not ever... We are proud of your skills and daring feats. Grandpa & Carol
