Our whole family is taking a semester break from work and school, and heading out to backpack around the world for eight months!  All the places we're going have been on our "life-lists" for a long time. We've planned and packed for over a year but basically have no idea about what awaits us.  Our trip begins December 23rd, 2008.

We'll try to update this blog at internet cafes around the world.  On the right, you can subscribe to a mailing list that will notify you each time we post a new entry.  You can see our itinerary and follow our progress by clicking on the map, and leave comments at the bottom of each page.  Please join us through this blog as we set off into the unknown together.

Have an AWESOME journey!!! We'll be thinking about you. Seeing your picture reminded me of when Chris and I thru-hiked the AT in '94. It was an amazing and life-changing experience...and to think you guys will be walking all over the world! We'll keep you posted on OUR adventures too..Miss Genevieve (french pronunciation) has decided to take her time arriving...she was due two days ago! Still feeling fine though.
