WOW - so long since we last wrote. Sorry all.
So, last we left off we were in Kota Bharu (Malaysia) waiting for our overnight bus to Penang. Well, the bus was awesome - prbly the most comfortable bus EVER!! Arrived in Georgetown (the capital of Penang) at 4am and faced with the question, where do we go now??? So, we found our way into town and wandered around aimlessly for a while and we couldn't help but not really like the place. So, we camped it out at the ferry terminal for Langkawi and waited for 7am. We managed to get tickets on the 8:30am ferry across so we departed Penang within 4-hours of arriving. Perhaps a record.
Langkawi was beautiful - very commerical - but beautiful. We stayed right on the beach in a little bungalow and took in the night food market for some tasty treats. During the day we rented a little red car (smaller than Bernice, if u can believe it) and Mark took the wheel and hooned around the island. Took in the sights of the local waterfalls, HEAPS of monkeys and some 5-star resorts. Very fun day.
From there we headed by Ferry to Satun (in Thailand) and connected with a bus to Phuket. Brooke's departure day was fast approaching so we figured we'd just get there and chill. Well, we got there, at 8pm after travelling since 8am. PHEW, long day. Once we got to Phuket we found the most FABULOUS hotel in Patong Beach, with air-con and a tv and dvd player - HEAVEN! So in between shopping and the beach we have watched pirated DVD's until our eyes burned, the last one we tried was Batman - The Dark Knight - which lasted 20mins and then we realised that the poor dude filming it in the cinema didn't do a very good job. I guess we'll just wait until we can see it for real.
So, after a month of highs and lows last night we bid farewell to Brooke, who having spent a RIDICULOUSLY small amount of $$$ has lived it up for the past 2-weeks in Asia. She lived the life. Massages, pedicures .... the works! She will just about be touching down in Melbs as we write this. Bye Brooke. It was fun.
And now Mark and Monica are getting ready to leave Phuket, onto Phi Phi Island and (hopefully) so sun! Bye. xo

Thinking of you both.
Love Mum
