Well, Today's the day I leave for Italy. It's weird because I don't feel excited as I should be, but I'm sure as soon as I get on the plane the excitment will be overwhelming. I am meeting Charlotte at the Rochester Airport so we can catch our flight to JFK together. I'm sure the flight to JFK will be all about catching up with her as I haven't seen her in about a month. But after the 4 hour layover in JFK I'm sure we will be caught up enough and I can sleep on the Red Eye flight to Bologna. From arriving in Bologna at about 10:00 their time, we will be getting a hostel to stay the night. Then the next morning will be a funfilled train ride to a town called Peraro where a bus from Scuola Italia will be waiting to escort us to our castle in the mountains. It's going to be georgous. From what I understand, there will be a show that same evening that we are required to attend. That will be my first event in Italy besides the travel.
Charlotte and I are sharing a double bed apartment in Piobicco. I presume that it is in walking disctance to the castle and the opera house. The weather there will be similar to what it is like in the Adirondacks: warm in the day, chilly in the night. That's the kind of weather I will be looking forward to.
I will update more when I arrive. I will take TONS of pictures and post them here. Make sure to comment so I can hear what you have to say about my illustrious adventures. I love you all and will miss you deeply.
-Catherine
