Meet Lafawnda the Honda :0)

April 2, 2007 - Lincoln, New Zealand

Hi everyone :0) I am going to a quick update and post up some pictures before I take off for Fall break on Friday!! Sorry that I havent posted pics of my campus or my room mom! I will before Friday I promise so keep checking!!

First of all...CONGRATS KRISTEN AND TONY LEWIS! I wish I could've been there to see you guys get married :0) At least I got to sit on the phone thousands of miles away and hear the ceremony from michelle's phone... I especially liked Emma's serenade in the middle of the ceremony...it added that little special touch! Kris you looked absolutely beautiful....I cant wait to see the rest of the pictures.

Life here has been a bit uneventful...well compared to my last nutty post. I have had lots of school work and field trips before break time. I went on a field trip to Kaikoura over St Pattys weekend... We had to observe flippin birds FOR 8 HOURS!!! It stunk. I was using my friends camera...a REALLLLLLLY nice one and ended up taking about 40 pictures of a seagull...that is the extent of my boredom. So when you look at the pictures and see all the random pictures that look like they are from an expensive camera...I took them for fun and wanted to show off my amazing photographer abilities :0) I was somehow convinced by a friend to let a crab pinch me...the pictures are entertaining. On Saturday night (St Pattys) we had to work with our groups on drafting our paper...and then our amazingly ODD teacher (the woman that used to be a man) let us off the hook to head down to the pub. She even provided some entertainment by drinking alot and dancing by herself in the middle of the pub. It made my night :0) As it turns out....my group disproved two scientific theories so I am hoping that means AUTOMATIC A+!

On the 21st, Kelly and I went out to dinner at her cousins-friends-sister-in-laws- friends house?? Or some odd connection like that. They contacted Kelly and wanted to make dinner for her and a friend....so lucky me that food was fantastic! They also invited one of their sons old friends that goes to college in Canterbury so that we could all meet and hang out in the future. Their daughter is a veterinarian in Dunedin, so when we head down there I might go to work with her for fun.

We have been spending a few days hitting the beach! The warm days are starting to disappear...Winter is coming and it SUCKS! Kelly and I bought a 1988 Honda Accord 2.0 Si Exclusive. It is pretty much the coolest piece of junk EVER....we named her LAFAWNDA THE HONDA because she is big and ghetto....if anyone has seen Napolean Dynamite (Shell I KNOW you will appreciate this one) then you will understand!

I got sick last week....the Dr's gave me lots of antibiotics though so I am trying to get better before my breaktime. Lots of sleep this weekend! Kelly, Erin and I went to a place called Akaroa this weekend and it was BEAUTIFUL... Ill post the pictures now :0)

There will be a big post coming after my Fall break....our road trip is almost all planned out! Keep checking back this week for more pictures of campus and my room! My break ends on April 22nd so look for a post sometime after that!!!

MISS YOU ALL!!! xoxoxo

Hey Deanna
I'm starting to plan our winter break trip to either Australia or New Zealand so I can't wait to hear about your spring break adventures and see what you'd recommend! You're definitely our kind of adventure traveler!!
Take care
Cindy
PS Jon brought home the semester abroad stuff for Australia last week. I think it's cause I told him you are having the time of your life over there!
