Continuing on our Eastern RV 2012 trip, we arrived in Clinton, IN on Mon., May 28. We stayed at Horseshoe Lakes RV Resort, one of our Thousand Trails membership campgrounds. This was a very nice and well kept campground. We were lucky to get an end site with a beautiful view of a small lake. We met my brother, Steve, and his girlfriend, Carolyn, at Lieber State Recreation Area for a picnic on Sunday. Steve barbecued some great chicken, and we visited all afternoon and had a great time. On our way home we all drove to Cataract Falls. It was a really pretty falls with a covered bridge. Then we said goodbye and they went east and we went west. Richie and I went on a hike in Turkey Run State Park. It was an awesome hike through some beautiful sandstone ravines. I never would have believed Indiana would have such rugged scenery. I called my brother, Steve, and he came and spent a night in the motorhome with us. We barbecued some more chicken, and then we all went back to Turkey Run State Park and did the same hike again. I only fell once and got skinned up some. Richie said I should have stayed down until he got my picture. He's so nice! We combined 4 trails for a total of 6 miles. If anyone has a chance to go there, be sure and hike trail #3. It is the best. There are two ladders on the trail, but they were not very steep, so they were easy to do. We really enjoyed hiking with Steve and spending some extra time with him. Richie and I toured some of the old covered bridges in the Bridgton and Rockville areas. Bridgton still has a working mill and they have a big Covered Bridge Festival in October every year. We only saw a few of the bridges, but there are probably about a hundred in the area. We made some friends at the campground that had a leased space, and they would come camping every weekend. We shared some bonfires with them and they shared some strawberry moonshine with me one night, but we won't talk about that! We moved on Monday, June 18, to Monticello, IN to White Oaks RV Park.
