We arrived in Monroe, WA on Sept. 9. We stayed at Thunderbird RV Resort in Monroe. To all of our Thousand Trail friends, this was a very nice park located on Rt. 2 a few miles from the Cascade Mountains and about 45 miles northeast of Seattle. Several sites are right on the Skykomish River, but they have no sewer, so we stayed in the upper section. We didn’t do any hikes in this area because I flew home for two weeks on Sept. 10 to visit family & friends. After I returned it rained every day but one, so we took a drive through the Cascades to Leavenworth and back. We took Rt. 2 through Stephen’s Pass and stopped at Wenatchee Lake. The leaves had started to change, so it was a really pretty drive. I had a great time with my family when I went home for my visit. I enjoyed visiting my son and his family almost every night. We celebrated our oldest granddaughter’s birthday with pizza and cake at our community pool. My 13 year old granddaughter and I had a Suduko contest and she beat me very badly. I finally had her do two to one and she still beat me! And I thought I was getting pretty good! Next stop is Sequim, WA.
