Simrishamn
July 4, 2007 - Simrishamn, Sweden
I got up at 4 am and was sailling by 4:30. The weather forecast was for strong favourable winds early and lighten up by afternoon. Forecast was right. I was the first one of the group of about 12 yachts in the marina to leave. It was a straight shot 240 degrees from utklippan to simrishamn. After i set the automatic windpilot i made my usual breakfast of oatmeal with raisons threw in some honey after listening to my cd player blasting out |"A Taste of Honey" by s. davis jr. Usually have my player on all the time. i am rotating about 12 cd's. gotta have tunes. saw the sunrise. 13 hours later i was docking again. Simrishamn is a massive marina. 100 yachts here. Biggest one i have been in. nice town right here too , not like sandhamn. bought some french bread in a shop and munched at it as i walk around. a restored old town. this is a good stop for several reasons. I need a new LCD screen on my engine panelbourd. It went blank and i called ahead for a service contact with volvo here and they agreed. Also the bad weather is closing in and i expect to be here maybe 3 days until it is safe to continue. so it is great to have wifi in the yacht 24/7. Happy 4th of july all you Americans eating hotdogs and water melon!

Thinking of you every day - and such long days you have!! Wears me out just reading about them. We ate shrimp salad and homemade strawberry sherbet to celebrate the fourth. Mike is putting tile on the floor of a sunroom we have built. Come see it.
