Today we went to lunch at a nice vegetarian restaurant... the food there is very filling and VERY good. Luv it!
We then caught the metro all the way to "casa del campo" which is freakin' in the middle of nowhere. The sign pointed to the zoo... but we could see absolutely nothing but random deserted land. So, we walked down some dirt "path" through the woods for a few minutes, and low and behold, the zoo comes out of nowhere. It was very odd.
We had a good time at the zoo. It was easy to get really close to all the animals because there are barely fences or blockades of any sort. (At the same time, we felt like we could be dinner at any time) We stayed for a couple of hours, saw lots of "normal" zoo animals and some other exhibits on marine life and reptiles as well. It was actually lots of fun!
Tomorrow we're off to Granada bright and early in the morning, and we won't get home until midnightish. Then on Tuesday, we're packing up and commuting to the hotel room we reserved for Tuesday night because it is much closer to the airport and we have a 7 am flight... The metro doesn't start working until 6, so, to spare any dilemmas, we're heading further north. We're crossing our fingers that this plane trip will be easy peasy.
