Foto Update

June 16, 2008 - Santiago, Chile

I uploaded some pictures I was really behind on.

1) I made a separate album for Mr. Kyle Adams' stellar Mendoza fotos which I decided you should have the chance to enjoy too.

2) After I shadowed at the U. Chile hospital, I had my mom take some fotos.

3) A few weeks ago, Nubia, Alexis, and I went to a famous seafood restaurant in Santiago.  We got order the mountain of seafood, as you can see.  I had gone to the same restaurant with my parents the week before and just had to show some friends what it was all about.  I think it cost about $30.  It included salmon, conger eel, and octopus to name a few.

Afterwards we went to El Persa (market) Biobio.  Alexis and I had been there previously with our families.  You could probably go a few days in a row and not discover everything: blocks and blocks of warehouses with wholesale, new, and used products from books to spark plugs to puppies to clothes to furniture to used postcards.  I even saw Snyder's of Hanover pretzels, and I checked.... they were made in Pennsylvania.  It was fun to be able to show that to my brother and dad.  Nubia, Alexis, and I arrived at a different side this time, and we were never able to find the area we were looking for, the section we went to on the previous occasion.  Basically, after many blocks, we hadn't even made it out of the clothing and furniture section, so we gave up.

4) On the 28th of May, I took a "gondola" to the top of one of the highest points in Santiago.  I mostly wanted to take pictures of the Andes.  It rained the previous day, and assumed that the air would still be clean.  However, I was too late.  My dad says you have to go the same day as the rain to get smog-free shots.  It wasn't a waste though.  Check it.
