Hailey here, writing a blog to all you Dryden folk while we travel to the hotel in Wales. This morning was a tough one considering no teenager enjoys having to roll out of bed at 5:30. But we all showered and packed up our things, grabbed breakfast to go and got on the bus to go to the ferry. Too bad we had to say our farewells to Andrew since he had to stay in Ireland; he will be missed. The ferry ride was about 3 hours long, but we didn’t complain because we used this time to catch up on our sleep. Although we didn’t have any cabins to sleep in, we made due with the couches and chairs in all the different lounges. I think we are very lucky this trip because we get to try new things all the time. Not only are we in a new place seeing different sights and tasting different food, we get to try out new transportation methods. Last year we traveled on buses and planes but this year we got to go on the ferry and soon we will get to sleep on the train to England.
Once we all arrived in Holyhead we met our new bus driver Paul. He seems nice and is also a very good driver just like Andrew. Paul took us to the Beaumaris castle where our group got to do some exploring and photo taking followed by more free time around the town. Most groups had to search for a restaurant that wasn’t packed with people but we all managed to get some lunch before getting back to the bus. The weather gave us more rain today, but do you think that dampened our spirits? Of course not! We all appreciate everything about this trip and we will enjoy everything about it rain or shine.
We’re headin’ in early tonight, I’m sure everyone will be tired. The trip is half over with only 5 more days to go, there is so much more to do and see, so parents get ready to sit back and look at all the photos we’ve taken and listen to all the stories we have. It’s been a great journey so far and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us.
Goodbye for tonight,
Hailey Northcott
