We awoke this morning to some serious Florida monsoons! I took the liberty of going over to the food court at the hotel to bring back a little breakfast of mickey waffles and fruit for the girls before we headed over to Epcot for the day. As you can see from some of the pictures, today was full of rain and good ol' Florida showers. We took some time to check out a ton of countries in Epcot and Mary Shannon, Isabella, Camille and myself went on the "Soarin'" ride. This is basically a IMAX ride in a hang glider--truly incredible!! We braved the rain to see some different shows and attractions at Epcot. Of interest were the countries of Canada, England, Dominican Republic, and Ireland.
Late afternoon brought some SERIOUS rain showers so we headed over to the Boardwalk area just outside of Epcot. Our first, and only, stop of the afternoon was ESPN Zone where the girls entertained themselves all evening with different video games while the adults watched a few ballgames and had some adult beverages. We had THE most incredible waiter named Brandon--orignially from Chicago. He more than entertained us all and was phenomenal at his craft.
So here we are on the eve of our last night at Disney. What a great trip it has been! We are all looking forward to heading South down to Captiva and the calm waters and calm atmospheres of the Gulf Coast. I speak for all of us when I tell you that we have had THE best time together and I sincerely lack the words to describe our trip thus far. We have already begun to plan our trip together next Spring and I cannot tell you how excited we are already! We have some great days ahead of us full of relaxation and rejuvenation (hopefully)!
We are planning on going to downtown Disney tomorrow morning for some brief shopping before heading South on our journey to Captiva. Kimberly and Camille leave before noon to head back to Charlotte and we should be well on our way to Captiva by 11 (4 hour drive).
We have had a fantastic time here at Disney and are looking forward to some relaxation for a few days down in Captiva. We hope all is well and we look forward to your emails and comments!
