About us

I'm a lawyer, these days. I have been a lot of other things including whitewater river guide, blues reseacher, artist's manager, roadie, concert promoter, record label owner, publisher, philatelic mail order business owner, author of philatelic catalog and articles, lecturer on small businesses, talk show host (still), and dj( still). I'm in my late 60s now, and around 2002 my sweetie and I noticed that we almost never went on trips any more. We had travelled to some places in the US, usually on business, like going to folk festivals, and back in the late 70's and early 80;s had spent quite a bit of time in Death Valley, and run the Grand Canyon on a private trip, - we met on a river trip on the Klamath - but where had we gone lately. Also, how much longer could we go places? So we went to Juneau, Alaska to see an Indian Festival and took the ferry back to Bellingham, then in the next years, we took a riverboat cruise from the Black Sea to the Netherlands, then went to Machu Pichu and on a cruise around the southern end of South America. When I volunteered to teach law in China for a couple of weeks we took a cruise from Anchorage to Beijing. This way of travel is fun. Soon we will go to Rio and cruise to Antarctica, and next spring cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Barcelona.

About our trip

We leave our mountain hideout around Dec 1, 2007 and drive to SF where we meet our tailor who is touring the US, with a new lawsuit on order, we fly to Rio and arrive totally wiped out from the trip. Someone from the Marco Polo, our ship, finds us we hope and we get to the ship, unpack, relax, and go see Rio. Then its hopping down the South American coast for 10 days or so, with major touristing in Buenos Aires and Montevideo, out to the Falklands where we have 2 stops and I buy some stamps I hope, then from December 20 to Dec 26 we are sailing to Antarctica, spending 4 days there, and landing in Ushuala. That's the end of the fun. Then we endure another grueling flight schedule to get back to SF and by New Year's Day we are safely at home with 2000 more photos - some of which I hope you'll get to see.
