November 29, 2009 - Cocoa, Florida, United States

Well, here we are -- in the very last few days of the rehearsal process! These have been the quickest three weeks of my life. It feels like I just arrived here in Cocoa yesterday. And in fact, the actual "rehearsing" is over and done with. Yesterday was our final day of rehearsal. All that's left now is our Final Presentation!

To catch you up:

I will be performing in three shows on the ship: "Champagne", "Listen to the Music", and "Ballroom Bravo". We finalized the first two rather quickly, and most recently just finished "Ballroom Bravo". It is our heaviest dance show with Latin, Swing, Disco, and Musical Theatre themed sections. I would have to say that it is definitely the hardest of all three shows. There is a lot of partner work. And seeing how Nic and I are the only two male dancers, with four female dancers, it seems we are always lifting one girl somewhere and quickly picking up another. But all the shows are really fun to perform and I can't wait to add the costumes, set, and lights!

Today is our last day-off in Cocoa. Tomorrow we will peform our Final Presentation for the Directors, Producers, Choreographers, and even Peter Grey Terhune (of PGT Entertainment) himself! The Final Presentation consists of a collection of our best material from all of our shows we learned. It will be about 25 minutes long, and after it's over Peter will take us to a congratulatory dinner!!

And then, after that...it's the home stretch! We'll have all day Tuesday to pack and get our last minute things in order and then we leave for Rio de Jeneiro, Brazil that night! After a quick nine hour flight, we'll arrive in Rio on Wednesday morning, check into our hotel, and have all day to have fun and explore! It will certainly be a great way to kick-off this amazing adventure!

We board the ship on Thursday and officially embark on Friday! I cannot wait to see the ship ! I am so excited to get on and experience everything for the first time. Especially, because I know that it will never appear or look the same as it did that first day! I just want to take it all in, letting every detail sink into my memory forever!

Once we are aboard the Voyager, it is going to be a whirlwind of everything. We have our installment period with rehearsals, tours, meetings, etc. etc. I have heard the first two weeks are definitely a bit hectic, but once you get through that, it's smooth sailing! (Literally!!)

I hope each and everyone of you had a Happy Thanksgiving, filled with amazing food, fun memories, loving people, and full stomachs! Mom, Jamie, Brian, and Jared: I missed you all SO MUCH! I love you guys! (You too, Puffin, Dolce, and Fray!) I am so thankful for all of you!

Nic and I went to Orlando to spend the holiday with his Dad's side of the family! It was a great time and it was wonderful to meet them all. We also made it to Orlando, one more time, to meet up with my best friend, Dana (& family) for some drinks! It was so good to see you all again! You guys rock and we had so much fun!!

I am so glad you had a great Thanksgiving! We all missed you like crazy, you are the "life of the party". The rest of us are pretty boring....It was very nice though. Got to visit a lot with Jamie and Jared. Then on to Nanny's and saw Uncle George and Nan and girls. Alex wanted to call you of course! Be safe in Rio and have a great time honey. I love you lots.

"Well I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again....." Fitting words for embarkation day. Good luck on your flight to Rio today, I hope you took plenty of music & books and hope they have some good movies, It's a long, long flight. Your journey of 24,000 miles, plus, begins with the first step.....and that step is today. Vera says "Auf Wiedersehen"....'til we see you again.
