Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

Well, I've got the first part of my trip nailed down... the month of February is Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras (link) in Sydney. It's a month of parties, of gatherings and of other things geared towards GLBT people. Events range from stand-up comedy performances to dance parties to bushwalks to film festivals to self-defense classes. I am particularly interested in one of the bushwalks and the Rock De'Lectro '08. I'd love the Pic-N-Mix Movie Marathon, but that's early Feb. It all culminates in the real Mardi Gras, which will be held on the third of March. It's the gay parade of Australia and one of the largest in the world, from what I've heard.

I will be in Sydney anyway and seriously, it's the perfect opportunity. I have never been at a gay pride parade (and as a gay Dutchman, that is almost a mortal sin). It would be a shame to miss this one. So the first couple of weeks of the trip are set:
