Off I go - Beijing is my next stop.
I packed my bags, afraid that I will forget anything important... oh well its Beijing the city where everything is possible ![]()
And so it is... everything is possible. I have to say, Beijing is like any other big city... therefore I did not make a lot of photos yet. My first impression is Beijing is like New York, London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong... you know tall buildings, running people the whole day, traffic, smog... The only thing which is different than western cities is there are much more Asians...
So I was lucky that a nice guy (Yang Lei) picked my up from the airport, without him I think it was nearly impossible to find my apartment. Even the taxi-driver and him were not able to find it, they both asked several people for the address... Me and my Mandarin language skills... sucks.
Entering my apartment, my lovely housemate was there to welcome me, Jane. There was my lovely room, full of garbage and trash... and plenty roaches. Welcome home!
I was lucky Jane helped me cleaning, I was exhausted after the flight. After the cleaning typhoon we went shopping for bed sheets and stuff like that.
My experience No Mandarin - No Nothing!
Oh I some Beijing habits...
- Do NOT flush toilet paper through the toilet!
- Watch out where you walk, spit everywhere!
- Laundry is supposed to be washed by hands, washing machines are for spoiled brats (Please let me be a spoiled brat)
- Do not ask for rice for dinner, that is for poor people (I am a student, I am poor)
- Cleaning detergent? Cleaning? What for?
- Granny panties are normal!
- Chewing gum - chew like a cow is normal!
- Hyves is blocked in China, can't read or write any messages, sorry no can do
Even though I love Beijing, it is an interesting city.
Till next time more Beijing news / experiences ![]()
