Monkey Business

August 4, 2009 - Romagne, France

We went to see the monkeys!

The weather is beautiful and we decided to visit La Vallee de Singes (The valley of the primates), just outside Romagne, and had a great fun time.

The park is home to 350 monkeys in different habitats. Some habitats you can walk through as the monkeys swing from tree to tree above your head. Others the monkeys wander between your feet foraging for food. The most protected or dangerous creatures, like the Chimps and the Gorillas live on little forest islands.

The Gorillas were just immence with the calm power they posess. The Chimps were a little bit more crazy, having been rescued from a research centre in 2004. They were still amazing, if a little nuts during their feeding time. Fighting, slapping and intimidating each other seemed the norm.

Leaving the park we decided to continue our drive north. We're slowly heading home, probably dragging our feet all the way!!
