We are definitely slowing down the driving a bit. I think we learned our lesson with the 10 hour stints in Romania that that is not a good way to travel. So we are slowly meandering our way out of Poland. A stop in Katowice and Jelenia Gora no more than 3 hours drive each.
We did want to see more of Poland but couldn't decide where, we also needed to sit down again and try plotting another few weeks of the trip. It's fine to wander for a while but also good to get a basic plan so all the books were out again. We stuck with the South of Poland, the sun shone in Katowice and we had a cycle ride round the lake, the sun then stayed with us to Jelenia Gora and sunbathing and cycling was in order.
Leaving Poland we once again planned a short trip over the border to Czech Republic, we had planned to sit and watch the Champions League final in a bar in the town. Well, it didn't go quite to plan. We cycled into the town and it wasn't quite what we expected, we hunted every bar to see if they were putting on the game , but to no avail. We stopped for a drink in the shoddiest, dank bar with a man asleep on the counter. It was time to leave. This town had nothing for us.
We tried the internet back at the campsite to get it, but ended up just placing bets. So instead we hitched up the aeriel and to our surprise, we were getting the game in the van! Brilliant, Kristina cooked a nice meal we had beer, vodka and the game. And to top it all, Chris won his bet on the score and we actually made some money!
So not a great start to Czech but off to Prague next, another place Kristina hasn't been to yet, but both looking forward to.

I,ve been following your adventure and really enjoying your travels. I really envy your next trip into Prague be sure to take lots of photos of all that Art Noveau work and be sure to see the work of Mucha.
I guess your looking at GErmany next and if si may I suggest keeping south of Frankfurt. Munich is beautiful and the food and beer is something to try. Don't bother with Stuttgart its a dump but you will pick up the Rhine at Straasbourg and the beginnings of a medieval area worth seeing as you cross over into Alsace never touched by wars. Great wine and food. Now a big warning watch out for the storks YES STORKS don't let them nest on your van or you'll be bringing someone home with you.
Lots of love
