Progress

January 9, 2008 - Sydney, Australia

We've slowly been making our way down the east coast of Australia stopping at a youth hostel in Bellingen, staying at friends in South West Rocks and again at Forster and on the 6th we arrived at the quaint resort beach of Pearl Beach where small waterfront properties are selling for over $2,000,000!!!! It appears we've outrun the storm conditions that were chasing us. I think I've finally got the hang of driving on the left side of the road but my eye's still get a little wide when rounding a blind corner and traffic is racing at you on the right side of the road. We've been watching surfers at a couple spots and it is something we definitely have to try. With the recent storm, volunteer life guards have been spending most of the time hauling people out of the surf. The waves have been huge!!! Apparently there have been a number of shark sightings also.

We spent all today with the kangaroos, wallabys, crocodiles, snakes etc.in a local zoo today. Quite interesting. Time for supper so I have to clear off the table.
