Thailand - Railay beach, Ko Phi Phi & Ko Samui

June 29, 2009 - Bangkok, Thailand

I arrived into my 10th country on my trip - Thailand! The bus took us to Krabi from there we got a boat round to Railay beach (the only way to get there).Railays best beach I think the aim was to just chill out there we managed for the first evening but next day we went exploring and found caves, a crazy climb to a lookout and lots of crazy monkeys. It was a great day ad a good night as we hit a beach bar which was nice and chilled!

In the morning we got a boat to Ko Phi Phi it was about 1.5  hrs and as soon as we saw it it was like wow... this place is going to be amazing! It didn't disapoint either, we looked round the small streets and found the main beach, it was busy but still amazing. Later we went on a mission to find the lookout, it didn't take long but the heat made it a sweaty walk up loads of steps. It was worth it at the top with stunning views of the island and different colours in the sea. We went to a bar in the town that was showing the tennis so chilled there, was a good night!Sunset on Ko Phi Phi

That night Sophie and I had booked a full day snorkelling tour for tomorrow, Katherine had already done it and Helen was waiting for her friends to come later that day so would do with them sometime! WE went to the place they filmed the movie "The Beach" which was amazing but over crowed by the time we left! We then hit a few snorkle areas which were pretty good but not amazing. We then went to bamboo island which was stunning - white sand and clear water, the snorkelling was really good here. The only mis-hap was at monkey bay where Sophie got bitten by one, not badly but had to go the hospital when we got bad and have a rabies jab. She was fine just an inconvience. That night Georgia and Sam had arrived so there were 6 of us who went to a beach bar which was amazing with a cool fire show and games. We partied till late, great fun!

Sad times in the morning as Sophie and I left for Ko Samui, Kathrine headed for Bangkok later and Helen & Co were staying a few more days. So it was a day of travel to get there in true Thai fashion ferry, 4 buses, ferry and another bus! We finally checked in at about 7pm ish! I watched the tennis in the room and fell asleep. Ko Samui BeachNext day was just chilled out lokked round the town and chilling on the beach. We had a nice meal and were heading for a beach bar before a massive storm kicked in so scraped that idea.

I had booked a bus to Bangkok so was leaving today at noon another bus and ferry combo to look forward to. We had a number of bus changes and long waits at places befor getting the proper bus at 730pm and arrived in Bangkok at 5.30am where i got a orange juice at Mcdonalds and stayed there till i could book in the hostel....
