I have entered the weird and wonderful world on Bangkok. Arriving at 5.30am was far from ideal but a few hours past quickly in McDonalds using their free wifi! I found a pretty nice place to stay that was cheap too then i was ready to go and explore. I was hasseled by a number of people within 5mins of walking around mostly tuk tuk drivers wanting to take me everywhere but i would probaly get nowhere other than taylors! I made it to a few temples then met an Eglish teacher at a local school who got me a tuk tuk really cheap and took me to some cool places and didn't try to sell me anything. In the afternoon i found some more sights to mostly temples, just shed loads of them! At night i went to a close by market selling everything dodgy... want a degree anyone?! Crazy stuff but good fun.
Today i got out of the city and went on a trip to the floating markets a few hours drive from the city.We got there quite early which was good as it wasn't flooded by tourists, it was a really cool place but prices were high due to all the people there. The locals come early in the moring and get the stuff for half the price. After this we headed to "The Bridge Over The River Kwai" this was really good as we got to walk over the replacement bridge and go to the museum to see the remains of the actual one. Very interesting but very sad at the same time, we didn't have time to go on the stretch of railway called "death corner" maybe just as well. We visted a temple on the way back be wasn't anything special, all templed out! That night i got a bus to another night market that was just plain dodgy in all sorts of ways... enough said! Didn't stay there too long!
In the morning it was time to get another bus to the newer part of the city, it is like a different world round here with all the huge buildings and smart people, it's pretty clean too! I checked out a few of the massive shopping malls i think they had everything you could ever want in there and more. It was a really busy place but easy to find your way around. I got the bus back to where i was staying to get my bags and head to the bus stop where i was catching the overnighter to Chiang Mai 6pm arriving 6am... yawn!
