Kanchanaburi KROENG KRAWIA

May 30, 2007 - Kanchanaburi, Thailand

Hello again. Well we spent a couple of days in Bangkok went on a boat ride down a black dead smelly canal, where we saw a dead dog floating down with all four legs poking into the air and then a little further down was a bunch of kids swimming in it. YUK! Then we went with Matthew to Gungawea, he sas a beautiful little house there that he and his friends built all around little waterfalls. We were fed the most awesome food and learnt how to cook alot of it too. Matthew took us walking through big waterfalls and to a big wat (temple) where a heap of monks lived up in the mountains. We tried to cross into Myanmar but the border was closed due to the army. But the country side around Matthews place was awesome and all the people were really friendly but couldn't speak any english. Because we couldn't extend our visas we had to leave early and go to Cambodia which is where we are now. We had a wild bus ride over the most bumpy road it was like riding inside a jack hammer for 8 hours. We only had to go 160km but we could only go about 15 - 20 k's an hour. On the way the steering rod fell off and then a bit further we all had to get out of the bus because if we went over the bridge with all of us in it we were told the bridge would break. It was a pretty funny trip. So now we are going to see the Angkor wat tomorrow and who knows after that. Other than that we are still having a great time. Bye bye

Gday kiddies... goodness gracious Cambodia hey! The temples are beautiful and so mystical you can spend so many days wandering aournd them. Must admit Siem Reap wasn't my favorite place in the bodge... very touristy in many ways. The bus to PhnomPhen from there is a good ride though, I think it's the only road in the country that works as a road! oxox love phoeb ( back???!)
