Pink Sweaters

March 12, 2008 - London, United Kingdom

So our washing machine broke in the Daniel House and we had to get a new one. It's a great washer, but it's German. Nothing against the Germans, but the instructions are rather hard to read when they are in another language. Also, it's SUPER hot. Well, I needed to wash clothes before Spring Break, so I threw in my first load of whites. By whites I mean light colored clothes and my pink scarf (mistake.) I washed them on delicate which is the coldest cycle, and when the machine stopped, I went to put my clothes in the dryer. I pulled out pink shirt after pink shirt after pink shirt. My cream GAP sweater is now pink, my two long-sleeved white undershirts are now pink, as well as my white short-sleeved shirt. Ah! I like pink, and all, but it's not as versatile with my small wardrobe here! I was nearly devastated, but I put the pink items back in the washer to try to cleanse them. If this doesn't work, I may be experimenting with bleach.

This trip is just one adventure after another. Now I am going to check my laundry...

PS: Today I went to the Natural Science Museum (very fun), shopping in Covent Garden, did homework, and went to the Strand to see Ring Round the Moon. It was a romantic comedy. I need to start studying for my midterm sometime...

I bet it was an East German-made machine. (Things come out a little pink! Get it?)
