Return to Normalcy

March 31, 2008 - London, United Kingdom

Today was my first day back to class in the normal setting (no more Spring Break or visitors). Yesterday, Hayley, Carolyn, Caitlin, and I went to church on Oxford Street at All Soul's. It was nice. Out of all the churches I have visited here, the inside of the church looked most like a church in America. So many of the churches here are so dark on the inside. Stained wood is beautiful, but sometimes I just think the church needs to be a place of light! I love church in the springtime, and although it was still rather cold, it felt somewhat like a spring day... still too cold for my white sandals, though!

We spent the afternoon in Whole Foods on Kensington High Street with our books and laptops getting stuff done. This is the most incredible Whole Foods I have ever seen. It's unreal. You need  a map just to get around. (Seriously, I got one.) It was nice to get out of the house to study for a while instead of being trapped in my room where I am now. (I am struggling through a theatre paper right now, and took a break to write this entry.) After studying, we walked to Holy Trinity Brompton for the evening service.

This morning, our British Heritage class met and discussed final exam times. It's hard to believe it's almost that time! The time has really flown... I still have so many things I want to do in London before coming home! After class, I went to the TV room and read for my independent study while breaking it up with a little Miss Congeniality. My theatre class met at 2, and ever since we were dismissed, I have been working on my literary analysis for that class. I don't know what it is about being in a foreign country on a gorgeous, sunny day, and being stuck inside that gives me a horrible case of writer's block. I guess I should try to work that out...

It's nice to get back into the "swing of things" ... whatever that is.
