My bush camp was a dark place, notwithstanding a clear sky. Therefore I went underway immediately in search of a better place to have breakfast. I found that place some 20 km northward, a small clearing in the rain forest.
The track has a section which is not used often and is a lot narrower with steeper sections. I arrived in Mossman early and paid a visit to the Mossman Gorge NP, where several rivers come together, see the photos. It is again an area with rain forest.
In this area the cloudy weather is quite common. The wind from sea holds a high percentage of water vapor, is forced up against the mountains and then condenses to clouds and eventually rain. Not much change to see a clear blue sky at this place.
After the Mossman Gorge I went to the library of Mossman to update the weblog and check my e-mail. Since I did not fancy a campsite in Mossman I traveled a bit further north to Wonga Beach where I found a caravan parkĀ on the water front. All shady sites because the rain forest meets the beach.
