Port Douglas to Daintree Village

July 28, 2008 - Lower Daintree, Australia

In the morning I helped Victoria to get unused drinks back to the shop, fixed something on her computer and said goodbye. I then left for Daintree Village, little more than a collection of hotels and lodges and a campsite. All locals seem to be in the business of selling boat trips on the Daintree River. I was too late to join a trip, I will do that in the morning. I explored the beginning of the CREB track, but the track is indeed closed at this end.

At this place crocodiles inhabit the river. In fact there were two of them just across the river, too far away  to take a photo.

I stay in the caravan park, a beautiful green spot some 30 meters away from the river.
