left Burketown early on a cool but clear morning. When traveling inland the savannah gave way limestone hills. It is in these hills that Riversleigh Mammal Fossile Site is located. At this site many fossils of around 25 million years ago are found. There is a short walk at this site where these fossils can be seen.
I arrived at Lawn Hill Gorge in the Boodjamulla NP early in the afternoon. I did some preliminary exploring on foot and spend the rest of the afternoon reading.
