First thing in the morning I paid a visit to the nearby aboriginal paintings. I found two rocks with paintings, but there should be more. From there I returned to the Gibb River Road. Withing 10 km I had yet another punctured tyre and discovered that I had left the jack by the side of the toad in Halls Creek. So the only thing I could do was wait for another vehicle, flag it down and ask to use their jack. This got settled within half an hour. I will have to chase up another jack at first opportunity.
I stopped at Mnt Barnet Gorge, not so big but a really beautiful place, day use only however.
I stopped At Mnt Barnett Roadhouse to have the tyre repaired, but they stopped doing that due to government regulations. They need a qualified engineer for that since the beginning of this season and that they can’t afford. I then tried 80 km further on at Imintji Store but here the mechanic was a few days away to Perth and had closed his workshop for these days. Next opportunity will be Derby, another 250 km or so away.
I made camp at Silent Grove, I good campsite in King Leopold Conservation Ranges with the luxury of simple showers.

Een dikke knuffel van ons.
