Well long time no talk... to anyone acutally, sorry about that....got a little caught up in the world around me.
Happy Easter to all that believe, Lima has been crazy with candlelit services and parades....little religous down here, ya know!
Not alot of time to write just wanted to let everyone know I´m still alive and not sold into white slavery, thanks for that one Chris. Peru has been great and really busy. We crossed the border in to Peru about maybe 3 weeks ago, not exactly sure, sort of loss track of time and days, meaningless things like that...
Crossing the border into Peru was by far the most sketchy crossing we have had in the trip so far. Cops giving us suggestions on who to follow for taxi´s, security gaurds getting paid off and leading us down through backsides of markets, taxi´s that up the price without telling anyone....so on and so forth. Let´s just say the first day in Peru...little fustrating and a true test of patience. Since then though everything else has been great, except for 2 days but well get into that later.
Since than we have been in every clime and place, from the beaches to the Andes. Have gone on quite a few educational tours and sights such as Inca ruins and early civilizations grave sites and worship temples. And of course the not so educational such as salsa clubs, fire dancing and witches market.
So far the highlight would have to be trekking backcountry up in the Andes for a week. Incredible mountian views, campsites and waterfalls. Went with some travelers I met in Hurraz along the way since Andres hurt his ankle and was not able to make the hike. (he´s making Manchu, don´t you worry) Won´t get too into it, the pictures will explain as much that can be explained, if I ever get them up.....words and pictures really doesn´t give the time justice.
Downside, food poisoning somewhere along the way to Lima, got to spend a night and a day in Lima´s finest hospital, which by the way was extremely nice, I had my own nurse staff, so can´t really complain too much. All better know, so don´t anybody worry their pretty little heads about it... Still in Lima but leaving tomorrow for the ¨White City¨and than on to Cusco to start the 4 day trek of the Inca Trail and Manchu Picchu.
Sorry so short on the update, lots to do and very little time and running out of time.... no word yet on school and not sure where I will be flying out of to come back to the states come late May, but sure as hell wont be Brazil.
Hope everyone is great and living up the start of Spring, keep in touch and I will try to do the same.
