Back in America.....

May 4, 2008 - Winchester, Massachusetts, United States

So it's officially been one week that I have been back in the US of A and it has been one weird week at that. I am definately glad to be back but adjusting to life back in the states has been a bit hard. One funny difference between Italy and the States I have found it the toliets.. yes the toilets! hah The toilet down in the basement of my apartment was very high of the ground and I found myself like jumping onto the seat the first few days I was home as the toliets here are so much lower to the ground haha.

I spent my first week back doing alot of sleeping and trying to de-jet-lag myself, I think I have done a good job and now gotten myself back into my old habits of sleeping in super late! haha I also went back into school at Emmanuel to visit with some firends. They did not know I was coming so I suprised them all and they were sure glad to see me as I was them!  I have also spent my time eating alot of American and no Italian food. My first night back I went to the 99 and had a heaping plate of potatoe skins, I had a huge craving for them my last few weeks in Italy? hah, why I do not know. I have also had alot of Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffees. I will basically eat anything now that I am home except pasta. Nick was the same way when he came home, I have had more pasta than humanly possible the last few months and if I have anymore I think I will get sick! haha

So life moves a little slower now with not much to do except unpack (which my Mom nags me to finish everyday! haha) I have about 8 weeks at home before I return up to Camp Bernadette in New Hampshire, in that time I will be doing my 30 hours of class room observation for my Education Major up the street at Ambrose Elementary as I missed it this semester while in Italy. Other than that I will just be hanging out and enjoy being back in America.  Although I do miss Europe, Italy and Perugia very much it is also nice to be home and see my friends and family while indulging in some American Comforts.

Well I hope you have enjoyed reading all my entires as much as I have enjoyed writing them. This will be my last entry and if I have not allready seen you hopefully I will see you shortly after writing this entry and you can comment to me in person instead of on my blog! haha Well Ciao Ciao for now and see you all soon!

-Alyssa
