Since my last journal entry, I spent a lazy four days on Ko Panghan, and then made a bizarrely long journey back to Malaysia. This 24-hour trip involved transportation by 2 taxis, 3 boats, 1 motorbike, 2 minivans, 1 bus... and of course walking across the Thailand-Malaysia border in a thunderstorm (I knew that umbrella would come in useful at some point in my trip
It was all well worth the effort though, because I made it to Pulau Perhentian Kecil, a pearl of an island off the North/East Malaysian coast. An island where the electricity generator stops running at 11pm, where you have to cross through the jungle to get to the next beach, where you can encounter 1.5 m long varans on land, and where the diving and snorkelling is truly superb.
If I would have had more time, I could have easily spent another two weeks there, as the atmosphere was very nice.
But... for now it's back to reality...
