So, after much anticipation the day when I left finally came. I flew with my aunt and uncle to Toronto, which for the record, it was cold and rainy and covered in fog. Anyways, the next flight was bitter sweet to London. My Aunt and I were lucky enough to have my Uncle flying the plane, so we got to fly first class which was an amazing experience. I will never want to fly any other way again! The bitter part of this flight was that my luggage didn't make the plane with me so I had to go a day without ANYthing but what I took on the plane. I survived this, although you will have to ask my aunt and uncle how they survived it because I probably smelt pretty badly!
We got to our hotel around noon which gave my Aunt and I plenty of time to start exploring the city. First, we went to the park that was right beside the hotel, Regents Park. We walked along the canal that was at the edge of the park and was absolutely beautiful. We then made our way to this shopping district where I have never felt so out of place before. There were markets that sold clothes and many small clothing stores that were all filled with extreme punk stuff. I have never seen soo many punks in my life and punk clothing. Needless to say, I didn't end up buying anything. My aunt and I then made our way back to the hotel, but somehow we managed to get very confused around Regent's park because it was huge! We somehow made our way back to the hotel where we got to rest.
Once we finally got going again (which I still didn't have my luggage), we got to go sightseeing around downtown London. We went to Picadilly Circus on our way to Leicester square where we got tickets to the theatre. After getting some pub grub we went to the musical "Spamalot" which was a rip off of the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was hilarious and made for an amazing Saturday night. Once we got out the night life was going, which was insane. There were people everywhere and they were drinking in the streets! We ended up going to a pub on our way back and then we hung out at the Hotel lounge. It was an amazing way to begin the trip and only tells of great things to come! Anyways, I hope that everything is going well in Edmonton and I hope to hear from you all soon!
