Milan and Athens

May 11, 2008 - Athens, Greece

Alright, so I haven't updated in awhile so I figured that I would let you know the rest of my adventures so far. Right after Amsterdam we went to Milan, where we had a very interesting first impression because we got ourselves lost and went to the wrong side of town which wasn't as nice as we imagined Milan to be. Once we figured out where we were going we got to discover the old part of the city and the Duomo. It was gorgeous, but my favorite part was this huge park we discovered in the middle of the old part of town. The day was pretty uneventful until we got to meet our roommate, an Italian guy that spoke amazing English. We were up pretty late being loud and obnoxious but other than that Milan only needed the one day.

From Milan we ventured over to Greece, via train and ferry. We learnt some very important lessons - book your train before hand so you don't have to pay for a full ticket and to bring a blanket when going only deck passage on the ferry. After over a full day of travelling we finally got to Athens to our amazing hostel, Athens Backpackers. We made many new friends on the roof top bar where we had a view of the Acropolis and then we moved on to karaoke where i went karaoke crazy! The next day we went on a crazy tour to Nafplio which is an old Byzantine fortified city. The fortress was still in close to original form we were able to climb around and explore all the caves and everywhere else. So far this trip was the best part of my trip. Today we were able to explore the city where we saw all the wonderful sights of Athens. Anyways I would of written more (I might add more) but right now I have people not leaving me alone until I agree to go out. Hope to hear from you guys :D
