Right - I'm not sure if this plan will work out, but I'll give it a go anyway... I'm going to try to write my entries out of order, as I'm already quite far behind with them... so, here goes.
My morning started with waking up on my brothers sofa to a cup of tea, having a shower and then realising that I felt fine despite having been RATARSED the night before... Scottish weddings is all I will say for the moment. I said goodbye to Mum and my bro then headed to the airport with the old man.
The first snag I hit was when I tried to check in. I had no return ticket so was refused bording. Fortunately, I had the funds to go and buy a fully refundable ticket and then check in. The hoops we have to jump through...
I said bye to Dad and headed trough security before quickly finding a pub for a fry up and probably my last pint of Stella for a while. Then it was on to Newark, New Jearsy with Continental Airlines. The flight was pleasant enough and I was able to get through two and a half films before the entertainment system crashed.
I wandered around the airport in Newark after getting through the STUPIDLY tight security controls. This included, by the way, having to collect my bag from the carosel then check it in 200 meters away and watch it disapear down another carosel. Genius. Anyway, I found a pub and a bloke to chat to about the differences between our two cultures and remained there for far longer than I had anticipated. Not due to inebriation and a missed departure, but because my flight was delayed by three hours.
I finally arrived in Cancun just after midnight and sailed through customs without a second glance. So much for all the worrying I'd have to answer a million questions...
Ana was waiting outside to greet me (yay!) and after huggng and kissing (carefully) for about 20 mins we headed back to her brothers house for the night, bringing to an end a 5,500 mile 25 hour journey. I mentioned the word 'carefully', because at Dave and Suzi's wedding the day before I managed to put my teeth through my lip. Score the only blood injury of the wedding. So, congratulations to Dave and Suzi, and I'm safely in Cancun and not missing having to get up for work one bit.
I'm also going to pass on a 'hi' on Ana's behalf, despite the fact she's sleeping soundly a few feet away... God, it's good to be together again!

When I flew out of LAX in 2001 the security was non-existent. I thought LAX was the airport code not the security but now it sounds like the US has woken up and gone to the other extreme.
Thats spams for you!
So no "wife beater", whats the mexican beer like?
All the best
