After taking a day to recover, Ana said she had a surprise lined up for me and refused to give me any details. All I had to do was get changed and do as I was told. It was a delayed birthday present as she hadn't been able to organise anything for me while in the UK...
So we grabbed a taxi to the hotel zone (the only bit of Cancun that most tourists see) and 'checked in'. It turned out we were going on a party boat cruise over to Isla Mujeres (Women Island!!). So, all inclusive booze and hyperactive hosts aboard we set off.
Once on the island there was a bit buffett meal and loads of puddings, which I tucked right into. Only then did the staff come bounding out of nowhere with a birthday cake topped with a couple of shots of Tequelia! Ho-hum... I forced it down.
We carefully avoided most of the demands for various members of the audience to get up on stage and make fools of themselves and sat happily supping beers until home time. A great evening...
