Easter was beautiful this year in Spain. As usual, it rained all day Friday but Sunday was beautiful. We woke up really early and went to the beach area to watch the processions. Each church in the area walked in the parade, each one featuring a newly risen Jesus. After that a couple of us took the metro over to the famous orchataria daniel. Orchata is a popular Valencian treat. It's a milk-like drink that is made from chufa nuts which are indigenous to Valencia. We sat outside in the sun on the patio. I ordered a wild berry orchata shake, yum! We stayed for a while and then decided to walk back to the study center since it was so nice out. The orchataria is out in the 'suburbs' and we got to pass by some farms and other beautiful scenery we hadn't seen much of since living in the city. We got back and headed over to 8pm mass. The ceremony was beautiful and we had front row pews. Strait after mass we got a table at a great restaurant named papperdella. We capped the night off with some easter egg dying in the kitchen and then called it a night. It was a great Easter!
The weather has stayed beautiful. They opened up the rooftop access so we've been able to tan and hang out there to study and enjoy the sun. We also hit up the beach a couple times. We've been wrapping up the schoolwork and it's starting to finally feel like the semesters over.
Yesterday, I finally got my wallet stolen, it was bound to happen! Fortunately there was no serous damage and thanks to my parents help I was able to get everything back on track in one morning!
Everything's going great and getting ready to leave is bittersweet, see you later, gotta get back to Valencia!
