Heading back to Shenzhen today - think 3 days with 2 kids is not enough to see all the sights. If your wallet can afford the hotel costs, we think 6 days would be a better option to get and see everything worth seeing. 10 days if you want some relaxing days in between. We did manage to spend a whole day and evening at Hong Kong Disneyland which the girls loved so much. They were even willing to stand in many lines for up to an hour each time to have their picture taken with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Tigger, Goofy, Mini Mouse, Pooh Bear and a few others.
The parade was amazing and lighting of the castle at night was one of the spectacles not to be missed.
Did some shopping around Hong Kong which is an experience in some stores. In many cases they offered 50% off the ticket price before you have even asked. Not all stores are like this but when you hit one, you can generally get your goods for 30%-40% of the ticket price.
Plenty of genuine fakes on offer as well.
The light show on the harbour is quite good with a large amount of buildings with lights all over them and some laser lights all synced to music. Show goes for about 20 minutes but the buildings keep displaying the lights all night.
They really make an effort at Christmas in some locations with some amazing decorative displays. The best we saw was at the wharf shopping centre near the crusie ship terminal. Spectacualr if you are here in December.
Some of the other attractions to see are Ocean World, The 5.7km Skyrail, The Floating Markets, and there are a number of cultural tours covering old temples and traditional chinese arcitechure.
