Getting Into Edinburgh And Geocaching

May 3, 2008 - Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Hey Guys!

It's been a while but things are going well. We're into the swing of things with work (and getting paid). We've been able to get out and about a bit more. There are a bunch of good pubs around, we pretty much have somewhere different to go every time that we step out the door.

We've also taken up a new hobby called "geocaching" which is basically treasure hunting mixed with orienteering using GPS's. The best thing about geocaching is that it has been taking us off the beaten track to places that we would never have found on our own.

Last night I ventured out by myself while Mel was working and came across a disused railway tunnel that is now used as a walkway/bicycle path. It had just gotten dark as I approached it and not a soul was around. I took some photos and started walking through. The tunnel is about half a mile long and I stopped halfway through to take some more pics, this is when it started to creep me out a bit. I'd seen horror movies that started like this, so I picked up the pace and got out of there.

Over the next couple of weeks we're hoping to get down to Newcastle and head to Hadrian's Wall. I also really want to get to St. Andrew's (the home of golf). There'll be more updates as we check out more stuff.

Oh yeah, the weather seems to be getting a bit better too, this makes it much more motivating to get out and see stuff.

See ya, Justin.

If it were a horror movie, you'd turn around 360 degrees, see nothing and then suddently a zombie appears behind you!
