Another weekend in Edinburgh, it's pretty much our second last one before leaving. We've both been carrying colds lately so we've hardly been bouncing off the walls. On Saturday we met up with Laura and did a bit of exploring and caching around Musselburgh. We ended up in yet another graveyard, lots of good creepy old tombstones and some good photo opportunities.

After a heap of walking we went to the Sheep's Heid Inn for a pub meal and a pint. That was one place that we wanted to get back to before leaving Edinburgh. After a hearty meal we headed into town to catch a movie. So Saturday was a pretty full day.
Yesterday we lazed around and did some planning for our Europe trip. We then decided to head into the city to check out the National Gallery (art gallery that is). It was free and Mel was keen to check it out. I actually enjoyed it much more than I expected. Lots of "Ye Olde Paintings". I saw my first Rembrandt, Monet and Raphael....la-di-da! I'm not exactly an art guru, but at least now I can say I've seen some of their work.

Today we've actually had sunshine! Wanting to make the most of it we headed into the city again. This time we went to the National Portrait Gallery, not as enjoyable as the National Gallery. Funnily enough, there was nothing but portraits there which isn't my kind of thing. We then went to St Andrew's Square for a cuppa and laze in the sunshine. I took the opportunity to take some more photos, this time just playing around with the camera.
Well there isn't too much else to report. Our last week will be spent checking out some Fringe Festival events, should be fun. We're getting a clearer picture of what we want to do once we start our Ireland/Europe tour. I won't spill the beans, that's for future journal entries. Needless to say that we're getting pretty excited.
Alright, that's about it for now. Take it easy.
