Not much has gone on over the past ten days over here in Iraq. Like I’ve said before the days are pretty much the same day in and day out. I apologize for those that are looking for humor; you’re just not going to get that with every entry.
I know Cinco de Mayo was last week, so I’m sure everyone went out and celebrated. Nothing better than some Mexican food and a few cold ones to wash it all down. Let me just say it’s not a big holiday over here, hahahaha. Actually when I think of Cinco de Mayo, I think about my Dad as that is his birthday. Pops hope you had a great birthday and I really enjoyed talking with you! This is just the beginning for me as the summer brings lots of birthday, anniversaries, and other holidays.
Well as most of you know, today is Mother’s Day!!!!! If you didn’t remember shame on you, but at least I’ve reminded you allowing you the chance to grab that last minute gift, card, etc… You can thank me later!
I’d like to wish all you Mom’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day, especially my Mom and step mom. Even though I can’t celebrate this day with you in person, know that I’m thinking of you. Love you!
I’d also like to wish my Dad and Marna a Happy Anniversary! They will be celebrating their 24th Anniversary on May 12th. Congrats!
So I’ve decided that each time I post a new blog, I will add one of Kelly’s famous jokes. Figured why not share his humor with the rest of you. Brian I know how much you miss it, so just think now you’ll feel right back at home.
What is invisible and smells like carrots?????? Anybody??????? Anybody???????
Ok I’ll tell you, bunny farts!
I don’t know where he gets these jokes, but man he kills me… hahahahaha! I hope you all enjoy his jokes just as much as I do….!
Other than that not much is going on over here in the Sandbox, except last night I went home after a long day of work only to find out that the power went out as soon as I walked into my room. Of course I let out a few 4 letter words that you all have heard before. All I wanted to do was go home take a shower and watch the Orlando Magic game, however, that wouldn’t happen as power didn’t come back on until 4am. Needless to say I caught the highlights this morning on SportsCenter and as usual I missed a great game. I hope the Magic can win the next game in Detroit to force a game 6 back in Orlando, so hopefully power won’t go out on me again. I’ve noticed that some of you think I’m too skinny; I’d like to report I eat just fine and actually weighed in at 184 pounds today. I’ve gained 9 ponds since landing in Iraq, so hopefully that will make some of you feel better. Actually today I received another care package, this one coming from my Mom, thanks Mom!!!!! Already opened the big bag of M&M’s, and ate a couple cookies….they’re good!
Have a good one and talk to you soon!
