Daejeon #2

March 6, 2008 - Taejon, South Korea

We are halfway through our week in Daejeon and so far this city has given us some of the best audience on tour so far! Tonight before the curtain even went up on our feet they were screaming and cheering. A nice welcome :)

Tonight after the show I was at a 7 Eleven and there was a group of four Korean teenage boys in suits. They were looking at me (something we've grown very used to in Asia) and one came over to try to talk to me. He looked at me and said "bay oo?" which is Korean for actor. So I replied in Korean that yes I was a musical theatre actress. They were shocked that I spoke any Korean so I continued that I was American and in the musical 42nd Street- which they had just seen and liked very much! Turns out they are students who came to see the show tonight. Cute.

Unfortunately my computer in acting up again... It has been fine for months now and for some reason the other morning it decided to not want to turn on. So if my emails and updates are fewer than usual, I apologize!

Right now I'm just enjoying having the days to relax and not do much. My left shin has gotten pretty painful so I go to Starbucks and read mostly during the day. Right now I'm in the middle of Shantaram- a thick and intimidating book, but I can't put it down! I know, I know... sushi? reading? oh, and I like tofu, a lot! What's next!??!

I hope your shin is better. That is a terrible thing for a dancer. You sure are broadening your tastes these days. Good for you.. Love, Grandma

What did you do to your shin? (We must have missed that one.) We spent most of the day chopping ice in the driveway and shoveling it. It's still winter here. Love you, Grandma and Grandpa P.
