This is a short entry to let those who are concerned know that I am alive, though not too well. I am in Vang Vieng, the tubing capital of laos (more on that in another entry) and have managed to contract travellers gastro, that hideous sickness that ruins the best travel plans.
For the last three days I have been laying prone on my bed staring up at the geckos feeding on my bungalow ceiling as my stomach contracts in ever increasing fierceness. This, punctuated by frequent runs to the bathroom, or in some cases only as far as my front door, has taken up considerable amount of my time and energy. The lack of food only makes my toilet runs all the more difficult as I have no energy at all.
So, travelling isn't all fun and excitement and nor am I at the moment. But I will survive and will write more on what I have been doing before this illness overtook me...soon.
